What Are You Planning To Do For God Today?

Believing in God, truly believing, implies commitment and action. Do you want to know how? Here I explain it to you.

Believe in God? It is a question that perhaps you have been asked many times. Your answer was likely, “Yes, I believe in God.” Now, I invite you to reflect on the following: if you believe in God, what have you done for Him?

The above question may sound a bit strange, but it really isn’t. One can have a slight or superficial belief, but I am sure that you will agree with me that when one believes with conviction, then one stops thinking only of herself, and is always willing to give of herself to her neighbor. As it is written: “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35). Which makes perfect sense: no one could love God, without doing anything for their neighbor, don’t you think? For this reason, it is my wish that you know five ways to do something for your fellow men, and at the same time manifest your faith and desire to serve God.

In this regard, the Bible says the following, in Matthew 25: 40-43: «And the King answering, will say to them: Truly I say to you: As soon as you did it to one of these my least brothers, you did it to me. Then he will also say to those on the left: Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. Because I was hungry, and you did not feed me; I was thirsty, and you gave me nothing to drink; I was a foreigner, and you didn’t pick me up; I was naked, and you did not cover me; sick, and in jail, and you did not visit me. Our beliefs, if not accompanied by action, are not really of much use. So what can you do to show love to God and to your fellow men?

1. Join a volunteer group

In some cities, bonding is a matter of having time to prepare yourself with some basic knowledge about first aid, among other activities, to help you provide a comprehensive service to those who need it.

On the other hand, some religious congregations have social service groups where they not only help people but also collaborate in the improvement of the environment and beautification of the town that requires it, add that they also do charity work, so by fields action do not worry.

2. Serve in a nursing home (geriatric)

There are many forgotten old people in hospices who need someone kind who is willing to share some time and company with them. Remember that at some point in your life you will go through old age and – if you do not have the company of yours – it is likely that someone with a generous heart will give a little of their love and time to you.

3. Donate food or clothing in good condition

Today the economic situation in many parts of the world is complicated. Despite this, there is always some non-perishable food and clothing that you can donate. The truth is, I have always believed that what is given in a disinterested way, will be more than received when it is needed.

4. Take care of your environment

Try not to throw garbage in the street, fix the garden of your house and be careful – when you go for a walk – to leave the place you visited clean. If you take into account that what you do on the street is a reflection of your home, then it will be easier for you to take care of nature. It is also everyone’s responsibility, since this planet was given to us to take care of it and to enjoy it, but not to harm it.

5. Spontaneous help to those who need it

It is as simple as helping someone who has dropped a package or his wallet, or — if he is heavily loaded with the purchase — he tries to help him without expecting anything in return; just out of solidarity.

Try from now on not to forget that what you do for others, you are doing for God. In fact, even if you don’t have a strong belief in Him, keep in mind that what you do for others today, someone else can do it for you tomorrow. This is called solidarity.
